New Delhi, Apr 2: Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), the largest steel-making public sector company, on Thursday said its sales grew by 11.5 per cent to 20.14 Million Tonnes (MT) in FY'26. The company's crude steel output was at 19.43 MT, and saleable steel production was at 19.176 MT during the financial year 2025-26.
Record sales driven by broad-based growth
"Strengthening its brand presence and customer reach, the company recorded best-ever sales of 20.14 Million Tonnes (MT), reflecting an impressive 11.5 per cent growth over the previous year's 18.07 MT," SAIL said in a statement, adding that this growth was broad-based, with sales rising across all product categories.
Operational efficiency and rail sector contribution
The steel major said that its operational excellence was further demonstrated through improved efficiency parameters, reinforcing the company's commitment to sustainable and competitive steel-making.
"Achieving record supplies of 1.25 MT to Indian Railways, alongside all-time high long rail production from the Universal Rail Mill, highlights operational excellence and strategic contribution to India's rail expansion," it said.
