New Delhi: Nearly 9.8 crore farmers across India are eagerly waiting for the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Yojana. Under this scheme, the government provides Rs 6000 annually, in three equal installments of Rs 2000 every four months. The previous installment (19th) was distributed on February 24, 2025, and since then, more than four months have passed without any update on the next one.

Rs 2000 May Be Released in Early August

According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Varanasi on August 2, 2025. In the past, the 17th installment was announced during his visit to the same city during the Kharif season. It is expected that the PM might announce the release of the 20th installment from his parliamentary constituency again. If so, the money could be transferred to farmers' bank accounts in the first week of August. However, the government has not made any official announcement regarding the exact date yet.

Why the Delay and What Should Farmers Check?

The delay is believed to be due to pending verifications and incomplete information from some beneficiaries. The government has emphasized that if farmers' data is incorrect or incomplete, their payment may get stuck. Here's what to check:

e-KYC is mandatory – Complete it through OTP or at a nearby CSC center via biometric.

Bank account must be linked to Aadhaar – Else, the transaction will fail.

DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) must be enabled – So that funds are directly credited.

Correct bank details – IFSC code, account number, and name must match records.

Check your name in the beneficiary list – Without it, the installment won’t be processed.

How to Do e-KYC and Check Beneficiary List

- Visit pmkisan.gov.in

- Click on the e-KYC option

- Enter Aadhaar number and verify using OTP

If OTP doesn't work, complete e-KYC at the nearest CSC center using fingerprint

To check beneficiary status, go to ‘Farmer Corner’ → ‘Beneficiary List’, fill in your state, district, block, and village info, and click ‘Get Report’

Who Won’t Get the 20th Installment?

- Farmers who haven't completed e-KYC

- Those whose bank accounts aren't Aadhaar-linked

- DBT option not enabled

- Incomplete land ownership documentation

- Name missing from the beneficiary list

Where to Complain If You Don’t Receive Rs 2000?

If the installment doesn't arrive in your account, don’t worry. You can lodge a complaint via the helpline number: 011-23381092 or email at pmkisan-ict@gov.in.
