Indian, Malaysian firms exchange MoUs worth $36 bn

New Delhi: Indian and Malaysian firms signed 31 pacts envisaging investments of about USD 36 billion in sectors including construction, pharma and education. These MoUs were exchanged in the presence of Malysian Prime Minister Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak and Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman here.

Addressing business leaders from industry bodies including Ficci, Najib said this “whopping figure” of USD 36 billion is an indication of positive feelings, sentiments and assessment of the business communities of the both sides for each other. Najib, accompanying a huge business delegation, is currently on a six-day visit to the country. He has held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on wide ranging issues including trade ties and counter-terrorism.
