Ayodhya: Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, visited Ayodhya with his family to offer prayers at the Shri Ram Temple and later interacted with students at Shri Nishulk Gurukul Mahavidyalaya. He was accompanied by his wife Dr Priti Adani, son Karan Adani and daughter-in-law Paridhi Adani. The visit coincided with Hanuman Jayanti, making it a deeply personal and emotional experience for him.
At the Shri Ram Temple, located at the birthplace of Lord Ram, Adani offered prayers and described the moment as one of pride and devotion. He said the temple is not just a place of worship but also a symbol of India’s cultural strength, unity and continuity. He highlighted the values of Lord Ram such as honesty, duty and service as guiding principles for the country.
After the darshan, Adani visited Shri Nishulk Gurukul Mahavidyalaya, which is around 10 minutes from the temple. Established in 1935 by Swami Tyaganand Ji and inspired by Arya Samaj principles, the gurukul follows a traditional system where students live and learn together under teachers. The institution provides free education to around 200 students and focuses on values, discipline and knowledge.
During his visit, Adani interacted with students and teachers and observed their learning process. He said that education rooted in values helps shape not just individuals but also the future of the nation. He stressed the need to preserve India’s traditional knowledge systems while also preparing for modern challenges.
He announced that the Adani Foundation will support the gurukul by helping set up an AI-enabled laboratory. This aims to combine traditional learning with modern technology and create better opportunities for students.
The gurukul campus also includes a gaushala and reflects a blend of cultural and ecological practices. It has a strong legacy, with leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose having visited it earlier.
Adani said his belief in seva, or service, continues to guide his efforts, adding that such visits strengthen the connection between India’s traditions and its future.
