Drug regulator to test Johnson & Johnson’s baby powder for suspicious carcinogen: Report

The Indian drug regulator is expected to test the samples of Johnson & Johnson‘s baby power product after a Reuters report claimed that the baby product company has been using the cancer-causing asbestos in their products. According to reports in a leading daily, a team of 100 drug testers have been assigned to check manufacturing facilities, wholesalers and distributors of the product.

A report in Mint states that the drug testing officials will visit company’s manufacturing operation to take the sample as a part of investigation. Meanwhile, as per reported in NDTV.com, a CBSCO spokesperson said that the Reuters report on company’s product is under consideration and there’s no decision on investigation into the baby power.

Although the company didn’t comment on a sample-testing matter. However, the company termed the Reuters report as one-sided, false and inflammatory.
