Mumbai’s luxury real estate market continues to attract high-profile tenants and landlords, with two major celebrity rental transactions recently registered.

Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Singh Chahal has leased a premium apartment in Andheri West for a monthly rent of Rs 3 lakh, according to square yards which accessed the property registration documents dated February 4, 2025. The 21st-floor apartment, located in Triumph Tower 1, belongs to Natasha Suri, an actress, supermodel, TV host, and former Femina Miss World India 2006. The lease is for 24 months, with a 5% rent escalation after one year and a security deposit of Rs 10 lakh.Chahal’s permanent residence is listed as South City-1, Gurgaon, indicating a shift to Mumbai for the duration of the lease.

Meanwhile, Bollywood actor Sohail Khan has entered into a high-value commercial lease agreement with The Irish House Food and Beverages Pvt. Ltd. for a shop in Gasper Enclave, Bandra—one of Mumbai’s most coveted commercial hubs. The 1,290 sq. ft. space has been rented at a starting monthly rent of Rs 16.89 lakh increasing to Rs 17.73 lakh in the later phase of the 60-month lease. The agreement, registered in March 2025, required a hefty deposit of Rs 60 lakh and incurred stamp duty of Rs 2.67 lakh. The rental property document accessed by Zapkey.

Both deals highlight a broader trend of celebrities leveraging Mumbai’s elite property market—either as tenants of luxury residences or landlords of high-end commercial spaces. With real estate values soaring and prime locations in constant demand, these deals underscore the robust appetite for premium rentals in India’s financial capital.
