Closing Bell: Indices end flat; Sensex down 30 points, Nifty at 18016

Today, the benchmark indices ended lower, with Nifty around 18016.20.

The Sensex was down 30.39 points or 0.05% at 61244.70, and the Nifty was marginally up 0.35 points or 0% at 18016.20.

About 1,814 shares advanced, 1,562 shares declined, and 154 shares were unchanged.

ONGC, Tech Mahindra, Apollo Hospitals, Divis Labs, and Nestle India were among the major gainers on Nifty, while the top losers were BPCL, Bajaj Finance, HUL, HDFC Life, and M&M.

Information technology, metals, and real estate all increased by 1%.

The BSE midcap and smallcap added nearly 1% each.
