As we usher in the new month and second month of 2025, it is important to know some details well in advance. To know the month is to know the number of holidays in a month. And it is more so important to the number of bank holidays and when they fall on the calendar.

The month of February has a total of 13 holidays, depending upon the state or Union Territory one resides in. The first day of the month, a Saturday, will see banks operating on Budget Day.

The List of Holidays For February

The first holiday of the month comes on February 2, which is Sunday.

However, depending upon the observation of the festivity of Vasant Panchami, which falls on February 2 and 3 (Monday), banks could remains shut in states like West Bengal, Haryana, Punjab and Tripura.

The next holiday in the month comes at the end of the week on February 8, which would mark the second Saturday of the month. On account of this, physical banks will not be operational.

Then on February 9, Sunday, banks will remain closed again.

Banks in northern states like Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh will remain closed on February 12, on account of Guru Ravidas Jayanti.

Lenders in Manipur will remain closed on February 15, Saturday, on account of the Naga harvest festival of Lui-Ngai-Ni.

Banks will remain closed on Sunday, February 16.

On February 19, Wednesday, banks in Maharashtra will remain closed on account of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti.

Banks in Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram will be closed on February 20, Thursday, as the states celebrate Statehood Day.

Banks will be non-operational on February 22 as it would mark the fourth Saturday of the month. Thereafter, banks will be closed on Sunday, February 23.

Then comes another holiday, marking a major festivity, as banks in most states in the country will remain closed on February 26, Wednesday, on account of the Hindu festival of Maha Shivaratri.

The shortest month of the year will end with a holiday for banks on 28 February, Friday, on account of Losar.
