Being a crazy lover of Terribly Tiny Tales (TTT) from day one, I always dreamt of getting featured, but who knew I would be the one to review their second edition. From the book cover to the poems written…everything is just alluring. The poems are as bright as the cover page and some will be etched on your heart because they will resonate with you. One gets stuck in a storm of emotions from ‘Oh, that’s so me’ to ‘Please, spare me’ while reading the poems.

One poem is about a young girl ‘who steps out on a hot Mumbai afternoon’ in ‘small denim shorts’ that got everyone thinking ‘from being another rebellious teen to having modern parents’, ‘to making a mother accept the fact that this is normal now’, ‘to encouraging the feminism in another youngster’ while the young girl in denim shorts and t-shirt all thought was that ‘it was too hot for jeans today’.

Another one discusses the plight every woman goes through each month and why does something so biologically basic make the almighty feel ‘impure’ when he designed it in the first place? They say it’s the song of a generation that is ‘scared of eye contact that lasted more than three seconds’, and believes that ‘loneliness could be as harmful to health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day’.

If somebody tells us that they loved what we wrote, we believe it, and then we start to spam their WhatsApps by sending them things maybe they never wished to read. Isn’t it something that every writer experiences?

Out of the many pieces, this is something that will connect with writers the most…because they will be able to feel it. It’s a book where they have handpicked 97 pieces of writing while giving credits to their writers who never fail to excite the bundle of emotions in each one of us. Besides highlighting the relevant factors of the society, it has also curated some beautiful work of words with their ability of understanding and putting across their knowledge of varied subjects.
