Bollywood filmmaker Aditya Chopra has revealed that he has spent more on bikes than actors Abhishek Bachchan, Uday Chopra and John Abraham in Dhoom.
In one of the episodes of The Romantics, Aditya spoke about his blockbuster film Dhoom. Aditya, who started his Bollywood career with romantic dramas, revealed that he decided to remove drama, emotion and romance in Dhoom and add bikes. He said he wanted to combine Manmohan Desai and Michael Bay.

Talking about the budget, Aditya said, "In Dhoom, I spent more money on bikes than on Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Uday Chopra." Earlier, it was also reported that Aditya initially had car chases in mind instead of bikes, but director Sanjay Gadhvi convinced him otherwise as the rider's faces can be seen, and he reportedly had a craze for bikes when he was young.
It may be mentioned that Dhoom is one of the most successful franchises of Yash Raj Films. It was a chase drama with the actors riding fancy bikes throughout the film.
The action thriller film was directed by Sanjay Gadhvi and written by Vijay Krishna Acharya, based on a story by producer Aditya. The film, which released in 2004, also starred Esha Deol, Manoj Joshi and Rimi Sen.
Dhoom was also the first action film produced by YRF in 16 years, ever since Yash Chopra's Vijay which released in 1988.
