Guna (Madhya Pradesh): A woman was rushed on a bullock cart to reach the ambulance shortly after delivering her baby at home in Madhya Pradesh's Guna. The muddy path restricted the entry of ambulance in the village.

This is not the first time when pregnanat or women in labour had to struggle to reach the hospital in the rural areas.

A few days ago, a pregnant influencer from Sidhi, Leela Sahu, also highlighted the poor condition of roads. She asked in her video how will she reach the hospital during the labour.

According to information, the ambulance could not reach the village due to muddy and broken roads. The woman was later admitted to the Umri Primary Health Centre.

The incident took place when a woman from Damra Dera gave birth at home. After delivery, her health started to worsen.

The family called the ambulance in the morning. Though the ambulance arrived on time, it could not enter the village due to the poor road conditions.

With no other option, the family placed the woman and her newborn baby on a bullock cart and brought them to the main road, where the ambulance was waiting.

A man was seen guiding the bullock cart towards the ambulance while the mother sat inside holding her baby.

The matter has now been taken seriously by the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission.

The Commission has asked the Guna Collector to investigate and submit a report within a month. It also pointed out that such incidents are happening due to lack of proper roads in remote villages.

The Commission mentioned another case in Mohanpur Khurd village of Bamori block, where a seriously ill woman and her newborn were taken by bullock cart for nearly 3 km to reach the ambulance.

The Human Rights Commission has directed the district administration to take necessary steps to improve the condition and submit an action-taken report soon.
