Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Skill is the new currency and innovation is the new economy. The institutions of the state have to become centres of skill, research, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Chief minister Mohan Yadav stated this while addressing the one-day state-level conclave on Contribution of Centrally Funded Institutions for Prosperous Madhya Pradesh @ 2047, organised at Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Hall on Monday.
It was organised by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis.
“There is a need to establish knowledge value chain from publication to patent, from patent to prototype and from prototype to economy,” he added.
He said many countries rose during adverse situations and made significant progress in knowledge, science and technical capacity. India will become a developed nation when every state will progress, he added.
The chief minister held discussion with representatives of central institutions. These representatives shed light on sectors like semiconductors, technique, cyber security, drone technology, research on critical elements.
In his address, chief secretary Ashok Barnwal cited the need to groom youths in facing the challenges posed by Artificial Intelligence. It is the responsibility of everyone not only of government to turn the state into a developed state, he said.
13 MoUs signed with different institutes
In all, 13 MoUs were signed with education and research institutions including IIT Indore, IISER Bhopal, NITTR Bhopal, National Design Institute and National Forensic Science University, Bhopal.
