Sagar (Madhya Pradesh): The state has stood first in the country regarding implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). Union Minister of State for Urban Development Kaushal Kishor presented the award to additional commissioner of MP Satendra Singh at a function held in Delhi on Friday. Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh has congratulated Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for this big achievement.
Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the award given for best performance at the national level in the implementation of PM Awas Yojana, saying that this scheme has fulfilled the needs of poor and middle class families.
Minister Singh said that the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took personal interest in this scheme and successfully implemented the scheme. Today, lakhs of houses under the scheme have provided a standard of living with self-respect along with convenience and health to a large part of the population of Madhya Pradesh.
Minister Bhupendra Singh said that the state government understands the importance and essence of this scheme. Efforts were made to ensure maximum transparency and the level of assured utilisation of funds received for housing was also strictly monitored. Not only this, the success of this scheme has also given impetus to the economy of Madhya Pradesh. Minister Singh has also appreciated the officers and staff of the state who have been involved in this work for the successful implementation of PM Awas Yojana.
