Ashta (Madhya Pradesh): The major issue in Ashta, among many others, is water logging. Potholes and water logging are a common sight during the rainy season every year. Within a few hours of rain, the roadways in places like the old bus stop, the old sabzi mandi, Pardesi Pura, Budhwara Marg, and the Old Bhopal-Indore Marg appear to be submerged under water. The issue is occurring as a result of encroachment on the drains and blocked drains that prevent rainwater from draining. There is no suitable plan in place for removal and evacuation, which could partially resolve the issue.

During the election period, candidates from all parties promise development, but residents and shops have been battling this issue for years, and to date, no public official has been able to find a solution.
