Tiger Shroff Firing Case: Mumbai Crime Branch has detained a 22-year-old engineer, identified as Pranjal Thakaran, from the Pardesipura area of Indore in connection with the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff's car. Thakaran, a resident of Sonipat in Haryana, was detained during a joint operation conducted by Mumbai Crime Branch and Indore Crime Branch on Saturday.
Police suspect that Thakaran may have been in contact with the shooter involved in the incident. Investigators are also examining his possible role in supplying weapons and conspiring in the case. However, his exact involvement is yet to be established.
According to preliminary information, Mumbai Police had been tracking Thakaran's mobile phone location as part of their investigation. On Saturday, his location was traced to Indore, following which a Mumbai Crime Branch team coordinated with Indore Police to detain him.
Joint Operation Conducted In Pardesipura
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rajesh Dandotiya confirmed that the detention was carried out during a joint operation involving police teams from Mumbai and Indore.
"This was a joint operation. The Mumbai Crime Branch had contacted the Indore Crime Branch and senior officials of the Indore Police Commissionerate. Following coordination between the two sides, a team was formed and a joint operation was conducted," Dandotiya said.
He further confirmed that Thakaran was detained near a hospital in the Pardesipura police station area.
Police Probe Suspected Links With Shooter
Investigators are trying to determine when and how Thakaran came into contact with the suspected shooter and whether he played any role before or after the firing incident.
Police are also examining whether he provided weapons or other assistance to those involved in the case. His mobile phone and contact details may help investigators establish the nature of his communications and possible links to the incident.
Thakaran will be questioned further in Mumbai as investigators examine his suspected involvement in the case.
Police have not yet confirmed his role in the suspected conspiracy. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
