Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Jokes and jibes are common between married couples, but some of them often lead to tiffs and even make them end up in court. One of such cases is an underway hearing at the Bhopal family court, where a man had taken a hilarious jibe at his wife at their residential society during Ganeshotsav, and the wife took umbrage over it.
Following this, the irked woman uploaded an advertisement on matrimonial sites, stating that she is divorced and open to marry another man. She then shared this with her husband and went to her native house in Maharashtra. The matter was disclosed before the Bhopal family court, and the couple is being counselled.
The man, during a religious gathering at their residential society during Ganeshotsav, had made an innocuous remark, incurring the wrath of his wife.
Enraged over the same, the woman uploaded an advertisement on matrimonial website for marriage, to show her husband that she could be wed off to another man easily. She received responses from nine unmarried men within a period of 15 days, and shared this with her husband. A heated argument broke out between the two, following which the woman left for her native place in Maharashtra.
She came back to Bhopal on Monday, and approached the family court demanding divorce from her husband. The couple is currently being subjected to counselling.
Wife demanding public apology
Advocate at Bhopal family court, Shaeil Awasthi said that the husband said during counselling that he had innocuously made the comment and did not mean it. The wife, on the other hand, is demanding a public apology from her husband. She wants him to announce publicly that ‘Men like him are fortunate enough to get married to women like her’.
The husband is not agreeing over the same, and reconciliation is unlikely between the two.
