Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Suspicious of wife who worked as domestic help, a man not only tortured her but also chopped her hair in a bid to make her look ugly.

The incident took place under Ashoka Garden police station limits on Tuesday. On the woman’s complaint, an FIR has been registered against the accused and further action will be initiated against him, police said.

According to reports, 28-year-old Sultana, a resident of Sethi Nagar, works as a domestic help to support her family, while her husband, Nafees Ansari, earns a living by doing odd jobs.

On Tuesday morning, as Sultana was preparing to leave for work, Nafees stopped her and insisted she stay home. Despite her attempts to calm him down, a heated argument broke out, after which Nafees physically assaulted her with repeated kicks and punches.

While hurling abusive language, Nafees forcibly chopped off Sultana’s hair with a pair of scissors and ordered her to go to work in the same disheveled condition. Disturbed by the humiliation and abuse, Sultana later approached the police and filed an FIR against her husband.
