Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Secretary Anurag Jain has instructed collectors to conduct daily monitoring to ensure the availability of LPG cylinders in Madhya Pradesh.

He was addressing a review meeting with collectors through video conferencing on petroleum products at Mantralaya on Thursday. It was decided that daily reviews would be conducted at both district and state levels.

Jain directed the concerned agencies to coordinate regularly with district administrations to ensure the maximum number of domestic PNG connections in districts equipped with pipelines. He instructed collectors to provide the necessary workforce to these agencies and emphasised the need to publicise the benefits of PNG so that, within the next three months, piped gas connections can reach the maximum number of households.

Jain also issued directives for extensive publicity and awareness campaigns to promote increased utilisation of alternative energy sources. Reviewing PNG connections, he said new connections should be issued as per pipeline capacity and suspended connections must be reactivated.

He further directed departments to issue No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and other clearances within 24 hours, and to organise camps in residential colonies to facilitate new connections.

Jain also reviewed action against hoarding and black marketing of LPG. He directed collectors to strictly enforce the Essential Commodities Act, impose heavy financial penalties and initiate suspension proceedings where necessary.
