Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla has denied the allegations levelled against Public Health Engineering Department Minister Sampatiya Uikey.

He stated that if the Engineer-in-Chief of the PHE department had committed any procedural lapse in ordering a probe against Sampatiya Uikey, then action would be taken against him.

Without mentioning the name of former MLA Kishore Samrite, who had sent the complaint against Uikey to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Shukla said that it is important to see who is making the allegation. He hinted that the credibility of the person behind the complaint should also be considered.

In his complaint, Samrite claimed that corruption worth ₹1,000 crore had been committed under the Jal Jeevan Mission and alleged that Minister Uikey was involved in the matter.

Sources said that Minister Sampatiya Uikey attended the recent cabinet meeting and provided her clarification regarding the allegations. She reportedly stated that all the charges made against her were baseless and without merit.

The issue has sparked political attention, especially with high-ranking leaders coming to Uikey's defense. However, questions have also been raised about internal administrative processes, as the probe was ordered without higher approval, leading to scrutiny over the Engineer-in-Chief’s actions.
