Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A presentation on buses operated in foreign countries and to be run in Devas, Indore, and Omkareshwar during Simhastha, was made before Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Wednesday. A member of IIC Alumnae Council, Satish Mehta, made the presentation before the CM and the officers.
Mehta has put up a proposal before the state government for running Solar Golf Cart, electric mini buses and nine-metre-long buses. Yadav urged the officers to initially work on a pilot project. Afterwards, the government can mull over the proposal.
There was a consensus on operating such buses from the parking lot to Mahakaal temple and Indore BRTS as part of the pilot project. Nevertheless, a few officers have put up a question mark on the utility of running such buses during Simhastha. Such a proposal may be useful in the long run, but operating such buses during Simhastha is of little use because of huge crowd that will gather during the event.
Keeping in mind, the huge crowd at Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Yadav said special attention should be paid to the influx of crowd, parking, bathing, crowd management, lodging, supplying pure water, food, medical facilities, waste management, and other aspects during the Simhastha-2028. Information technology, AI and all latest technologies should be used to run the system, Yadav said.
