Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, accompanied by his wife Seema Yadav, took a holy dip at the Sangam in Prayagrajon Saturday. Reflecting on the significance of the occasion, CM Yadav expressed his commitment to organising the Ujjain Simhastha 2028 in a grand manner. During his visit, CM Yadav congratulated Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the UP government for the successful organisation of the Mahakumbh, emphasising the event's spiritual importance.
He said that Mahakumbh, a key festival in Sanatan culture, offers an opportunity for spiritual growth in the presence of saints. The Kumbh, held every 12 years across four sacred cities, gives devotees the chance to take a holy dip, symbolising the purification of accumulated virtues from past lives. CM Yadav also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah had recently participated in the holy dip, with several other state CMs also visiting Prayagraj to be part of the event.
MP team to study Mahakumbh prep
Chief Minister Yadav said that a team of MP government officials had been dispatched to Prayagraj to study the preparations for the Mahakumbh, with the intention of applying the learnings to the Ujjain Simhastha 2028 preparations. The CM said that guidance would also be sought from saints to ensure the event's grandeur.
Moreover, the state government has set up a tent in Prayagraj, where cultural plays showcasing the stories of Lord Krishna and Vikramaditya are being staged. This initiative aims to educate the public about the rich legacy of the state and its historical figures.
