BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Facilitation Cell took part in an online event on 'Filming in India' hosted by the Indian Pavilion of Cannes Film Festival.
Principal Secretary, Tourism and Culture and chairman, Film Facilitation Cell, MP Sheo Shekhar Shukla, attended the event, organised by FICCI.
Shukla said that the state has emerged as a new and popular shooting destination. Filmmakers are selecting the best locations in the state. Besides, financial incentives are also being given to†OTT platforms. At the same time, special attention is being paid to the development of local artists in the state, so that skilled human resources can be made available to the filmmakers for shooting in the state.
Services like guidance, single window system, government assurance etc. for shooting by international producers were discussed at the session.
The continuous demand for OTT contents and production of films, the need for various service providers and the role of various government departments, basic infrastructure etc. was also discussed.
Dhanpreet Kaur, Managing Director, NFDC, Government of India, appreciated the film policy of Madhya Pradesh and the initiatives being taken for skill development of local artists in the state.
The session was broadcast live on the Cannes Film Festival website, watched by participants from the Cannes Film Market home and abroad.
