Launched on 30 March under the direction of Collector Harshal Pancholi, the campaign is focused on creating recharge pits, farm ponds, and Amrit Sarovars in rural areas to preserve groundwater and support agriculture.

According to District Panchayat CEO Tanmay Vashishtha Sharma, 3,352 farm pond projects have been identified this year, with 2,968 receiving technical approval and 2,140 already in progress. The government has set a target of 3,739 farm ponds for the year 2025–26.

Additionally, 12 Amrit Sarovar sites have been marked, with work started on 9. For well recharge structures, 408 works were identified against a target of 400, with 210 already underway.

In the previous fiscal year 2024–25, 1,391 farm ponds were completed and 1,604 remain under construction.

Efforts include building recharge pits near hand pumps and wells, and technical support is being provided by engineers. Alongside the physical work, awareness campaigns are being conducted in schools, colleges, and through women’s self-help groups, spreading the message of water conservation via essays, rallies, and seminars in blocks like Kotma, Jaithari, and Pushparajgarh.
