Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Three districts of Madhya Pradesh - Panna, Satna and Rewa - are likely to receive heavy rainfall on Saturday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that these districts could receive up to 4 inches of rain in the next 24 hours.
Light rain or drizzle is also expected in 52 districts, including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior and Jabalpur.

What do meteorologists say?
According to the IMD, Madhya Pradesh has received an average of 16.8 inches (426.6 mm) of rainfall so far this monsoon season.
It should have received around 21 inches (533.6 mm) by now. This means the state has recorded 4.2 inches, or 20%, less rainfall than normal.
The state’s normal monsoon rainfall is around 37.3 inches.

The weather department said eastern Madhya Pradesh, including the Jabalpur, Shahdol, Rewa and Sagar divisions, has received 23% less rainfall than normal. No district in this region has recorded above-normal rainfall.
As many as 24 districts in the eastern region have received 5% to 48% less rainfall. These include Anuppur, Balaghat, Chhatarpur, Chhindwara, Damoh, Dindori, Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, Mandla, Mauganj, Narsinghpur, Niwari, Pandhurna, Panna, Rewa, Sagar, Satna, Seoni, Shahdol, Sidhi, Singrauli, Tikamgarh and Umaria.
The western parts of the state, including Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Narmadapuram and Gwalior-Chambal divisions, have recorded 17% less rainfall than normal.
Several districts in this region, including Agar-Malwa, Alirajpur, Ashoknagar, Betul, Bhopal, Datia, Dhar, Guna, Harda, Indore, Jhabua, Morena, Mandsaur, Narmadapuram, Neemuch, Raisen, Rajgarh, Ratlam, Sehore, Shajapur, Sheopur, Shivpuri, Ujjain, Barwani and Vidisha, have received below-normal rainfall.
According to the IMD, only six districts - Gwalior, Bhind, Burhanpur, Dewas, Khandwa and Khargone - have received more rainfall than normal so far this season.
