Guna (Madhya Pradesh): A 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by five accused for 11 months in Kadwaya village of the district.
The victim gave birth to a baby girl and shortly after the birth she threw the infant into a well.
The matter came to light when the villager saw a dead infant lying in the well on September 20. The villager informed the police about the incident that a dead infant was found in a well.
Acting on the information, the police rushed to the spot, took the body out of the well and sent it from the post mortem.
After the PM report, it came to light that the girl was thrown alive in the well. The police started investigating the case and found that a 14-year-old minor of the village had given birth to the baby.
The police took her into custody and interrogated her. She told police that she had given birth to the girl child and threw her into the well for fear of the society.
The victim said that she was being raped repeatedly by five accused of the same village that of her since October 2020. Meanwhile, she got pregnant and gave birth to a child.
After the statement of the victim, the police had started a search operation to nab the accused. Later, the police arrested all the five accused of the rape case on September 25.
Superintendent of Police Rajat Saklecha said that a case has been registered against all the accused under section 376 and POCSO Act. The minor girl has been sent to the Children's Observation Home, he added.
