Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said, “Made in MP, Wear across the World is not a mere slogan but an industrial mission of the state.”

Yadav made the statement at a round-table meeting with the representatives of the Buyer Sourcing League (BSL) on Thursday. After the establishment of MP Mitra Park, the state will reach new heights, Yadav said.

The state is working on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s five-F visions, which are farm to fibre, fibre to factory, factory to fashion and fashion to foreign.

Yadav said he had received letters of intent for investment of Rs 16,000 crore even before the foundation-laying ceremony of Mitra Park. In the textile sector, the state has so far received an investment of Rs 3,513 crore, he said.

Women's empowerment is the root of industrial development, he said. To increase the participation of women in the garment industry, the government is implementing the provision for an annual incentive of Rs 5,000 for a woman employee, he said.

The government plans to open women’s hostels and crèches and provide them with safe transport near the places of work, Yadav said.

Principal Secretary of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Raghavendra Singh, said the aim of the state was to make its presence felt as a global sourcing destination.

Pact inked between BSL, state government

At the meeting, the state government inked a pact with the BSL. According to the pact, the government and the BSL will work together in sourcing, production, logistics, and design and skill development sectors.

The government task forces will ensure timely implementation of the work at PM Mitra Park, cluster-linked support, brand-engagement road shows, export promotion and EXG-linked investments.

BSL members give suggestions to make MP global brand

At the meeting, the representatives of BSL put forward suggestions on various aspects of industry. According to the founder member of BSL, Raman, BSL is a non-profit platform. More than 4,507 members are associated with the organisation, he said.

Tapan Bansal of Mother Care emphasised chain integration, faster approvals and expansion of testing quality. He also laid stress on sensitive segments such as infant and children's apparel.
