Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Under the direction of Jabalpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Sampat Upadhyay, Cyber Cell and Crime Branch recovered 147 lost mobile phones worth around ₹26 lakh, as reported on Wednesday.
These phones were also returned to their owners immediately.
Grateful recipients then thanked SP Sampat Upadhyay and the entire police team, saying they had lost hope of ever getting their phones back.
SP Upadhyay said that the success of this recovery operation was made possible through consistent technical tracking and support.
Notably, Jabalpur Police have previously returned over 2,100 lost phones worth around ₹2.5 crore to victims. The Cyber Cell has also helped return lakhs of rupees in ATM fraud and online scam cases.

The SP urged the public to immediately file a complaint at the nearest police station if their phone is lost. A copy of the complaint and the phone bill should be submitted to the Jabalpur Cyber Cell for quicker action.
A dedicated team under the leadership of the ASP (Crime) and Cyber Cell in-charge is actively working on tracking lost phones. This team will be rewarded with a cash prize for their efforts.
So far, Jabalpur Police have returned lost mobile phones worth over ₹4 crore to their rightful owners.
