Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A gypsy driver and two hotel workers allegedly took a 17-year-old school student and her friend to the forest area in Pachmarhi where they gangraped her after tying the youth to the vehicle.
On the victim’s complaint, police took immediate action and arrested the trio.
According to reports, the incident took place on August 19. The girl’s school friend had come to meet her and reached the Pachmarhi bus stand, where they met gypsy driver Hariom, who was accompanied by Pawan Bansal and Abhishek Vanshkar, who worked at a local hotel.
The three suspects allegedly took the student and her friend to a forested area on pretext of picnic. They threatened the two and tied the youth to the gypsy before sexually assaulting the minor girl.
After the incident, the suspects allegedly dropped them back at the bus stand and threatened them with dire consequences if they disclosed the incident.
The frightened student returned home and stopped attending school. She disclosed about the assault when her elder sister pressured her. The family then approached Pachmarhi police station on Sunday night.
Sub-inspector Monika Singh from Pipariya reached Pachmarhi and recorded the student’s statement.
Police registered a case against the suspects under relevant sections of BNS and POCSO Act. Police officials said the student underwent a medical examination and all three suspects were arrested and sent to jail.
