Gwalior: Minor found dead in city; rape suspected

According to reports, the age of the girl was around 9 years old and she was missing for the last two days.

Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A minor girl was found dead and her body was lying naked in the bushes in Dharam Kanta locality, Hazira, Gwalior on Monday, an official said. It is suspected that the minor was raped and then murdered, the official added.

According to reports, the age of the girl was around 9 years old and she was missing for the last two days. The family members said that the girl was playing outside the house along with her siblings and after that one of their relatives took her.

A CCTV video of the incident also came to fore in which the relative was spotted along with the girl and he was taking her below the railway overbridge of the area. The family members claimed that the accused, Kallu Rathore used to visit their house.

Superintendent of Police Amit Sanghi said that on getting the information about the incident, the police force rushed to the spot and sent the body for the post mortem. According to Sanghi, the girl was killed by a stone. The police registered a case into the matter and started a search operation to nab the accused on the basis of CCTV footage.
