Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Yet another case of child’s sexual abuse was reported in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur, where a government school teacher raped an 8-year-old student, the police informed on Sunday.
The incident came to light after the victim narrated her ordeal in front of her mother on February 20. After this her father lodged a complaint with Belkheda police, acting on which, the police arrested the accused. The accused is under interrogation at present.
According to information, the accused has been identified as Ghanshyam Thakur, a resident of Gotegaon, Narsinghpur. On Thursday, the accused let all the students leave after the school ended, however, he stopped the victim and took her to an empty room. Here he shut the doors and committed the act of brutality.
Accused threatened victim
He also threatened the victim that he would punish her by making her kneel in school if she told anyone about the incident.
After being freed, the child reached home scared and started crying while hugging her mother. Here, she said she won’t go to school anymore as her teacher is ‘bad.’
Hearing this, the mother asked for the reason, but she did not say anything at first. Later, when the mother asked her daughter lovingly, she told her about the entire incident.
After this, the father took her daughter to the police station and registered an FIR against the teacher.
‘Accused was addicted to alcohol’
The villagers allege that accused Ghanshyam Thakur usually reaches school in a drunken state every day, which was complained about many times to the education officials and public representatives, but no solution has been found till date.
“If the responsible officials had removed the teacher from this school in time, then this incident would not have happened,” they added.
Sub Inspector Bharti Mastram posted at Belkheda police station informed that the father had come to the police station with his 8 year old daughter and he has lodged a complaint that the teacher of the village government school Ghanshyam Thakur has committed a brutal act with his daughter.
On the complaint of the innocent, the accused teacher Ghanshyam Thakur has been arrested. A case has been registered against him under the sections of POCSO Act and rape and he is being questioned. He will be produced before the court on February 24.
