Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): No vaccine, no haircut. If you want to get your haircut done at a salon, you have to get yourself vaccinated first.
This unique condition has been put forward by Barber Association in Chhindwara district.
People in Madhya Pradesh are coming up with unique ways to promote vaccination to safeguard against Covid-19. Few days back, a mosque management committee in Bhopal decided that only those, who are vaccinated, will be allowed to offer namaz. A vaccination camp was also set up at mosque.
The Barber Association in Chhindwara has decided that every visitor willing to get haircut and shave done at salons or parlours will have to show vaccination certificate.
“We had recently held a meeting and decided not to give haircuts to those who are not vaccinated. It was noticed that people were taking least interest in vaccination. With this decision, we will be able to protect ourselves and also make people aware about vaccination. Ultimately, it is a matter of life for every individual,” Chhindwara district president of Sen Samaj, Sagar Bandewar, told Free Press.
He further said that those salon owners or employees, who are not vaccinated, are also not allowed to work. “We can’t put anybody’s life in danger,” he said.
Customer Deepak Sukheja said it is a good initiative by Barber Association. “Today, when I arrived at a salon, the owner asked me to show my vaccination certificate. Later, I was allowed to get a shave done. Salon owners across the state should implement this,” he said.
