Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Captain Ishita Bhargav from Jabalpur has made history by becoming the first pilot in India to receive the Electronic Personal License (EPL).
India has launched its first Electronic Personal License (EPL) for Pilots, making it the second country in the world after China to introduce this system. With this, commercial pilots will no longer need to carry a physical license. Instead, they can manage their licenses through a mobile app.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in India's aviation sector, making it the second country in the world after China to introduce EPL for pilots.
The Union Civil Aviation Minister, Ram Mohan Naidu, officially launched the EPL in a special event held in Delhi. The new system allows commercial pilots to store, access, and maintain their licenses digitally through a mobile app, eliminating the need for carrying physical copies.
This shift to digital licensing aims to streamline processes, reduce paperwork, and enhance convenience for pilots across the country.
Captain Ishita Bhargav, a resident of Naya Gaon in Jabalpur, recently completed her pilot training at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Aeronautics in Uttar Pradesh. After successfully completing her training, she has now earned the prestigious rank of Captain.
Her achievement not only brings pride to her hometown but also serves as an inspiration for aspiring pilots across India, especially young women looking to make a mark in the aviation industry.
With the launch of EPL, pilots will now be able to access and manage their licenses anytime, anywhere, directly from their mobile devices. This digital transformation is expected to enhance efficiency, improve record-keeping, and reduce dependency on paperwork, making aviation licensing more accessible and future-ready.
