BHOPAL: The two-member inquiry committee probing charges against controversial APCCF Mohan Meena submitted its report to head of the forest department, RK Gupta.

Sources informed that the inquiry report confirmed that money was deposited in the bank account of son on Meenaís instance. But who deposited the money and the source of money needed to be probed† further by a finance expert, recommended the inquiry committee.

Interestingly, the inquiry committee also did not recommend the kind of action to be taken against APCCF Meena. This part was left for the head of the department and state government.

The 100-page report stated that it was established that Rs 30,000 was deposited in the bank account of Meenaís son. Report also says that Meena said that Rs 15,000 were taken as loan from SDO Shradha Pendre and the same amount from ranger Amit Sahu - but the committee was not convinced on these statements.

In an audio that went viral on social media, where conversation related to purchase was made, has also been recommended to be probed by another team.

Sources say that the committee has almost absolved Meena of the charges in a subtle manner. It says that the deputy ranger who is said to have deposited Rs 30,000 in the bank account on the instructions of Amit Sahu has died of Covid.

The Women Committee that is probing charges of physical and mental harassment of women staff members is also pending. The committee has taken statements of most of the aggrieved but final report remains pending.
