Bhopal: State cyber cell sleuths on Monday arrested a Patwari, who posted obscene photographs by creating a fake profile over facebook in the name of his wife, to defame her.
According to police, the arrested accused Rajkumar Malviya, a resident of Multai district Betul, created a fake profile in the name of his wife to defame her.
In the initial investigation police found that the accused used obscene photographs to create a fake facebook profile of his wife. The victim separated from her husband around eight years ago just after their one year marriage and later filed a case of maintenance in the court which enraged the accused, but he was not able to persuade his wife to withdraw the case and at the same time do not want to live with her.
A complaint was lodged with the cyber cell and in her complaint she stated that she is not acquainted with the person who created fake profile and the profile is created to defame her. The accused then shared the link of the facebook’s obscene photographs.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation it was found that victim’s husband was behind the fake Facebook profile and was detained and when he was quizzed he confessed that he was angry with his wife as she filed a case in the court for maintenance and he wanted to defame her.
The police have registered a case under section 66 A of the IT Act and have started further investigation. Police said further details of the accused would be searched and crime record of the accused would be investigated.’
