Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): In an unusual development, the Special Director General (Communications) has asked the Police Headquarters (PHQ) to send a Deputy Superintendent of Police posted at Dial-112 for intensive training in discipline and morality.
DSP Anita Prabha Sharma, who has faced allegations in the past, was removed as ACP, Kotwali, Bhopal, over alleged negligence in duty. A complaint also alleged that she took goods worth Rs4.75 lakh without payment.
The recent controversy erupted when Sharma, in a letter to Special Director General of Police (Communications) Sanjiv Shami on March 16, used objectionable language. She was warned for misconduct. However, on March 26, she again used similar language, following which the Special Director General expressed displeasure over her conduct.
The Special Director General has now asked Additional Director General (Training) Raja Babu Singh to call Sharma and arrange intensive training in discipline and morality for her.
Untrained officer regularised, later promoted
The officer was exempted from weapons and tactics training in 2019 due to health reasons. She was asked to join a subsequent training batch, but did not appear in any of the batches thereafter. Despite not attending the training, she secured a regular posting and received timely promotions.
Training exemption order later cancelled
In 2024, on the last day in office of the then Special Director General (Training) Anuradha Shankar, an order was issued exempting Sharma from training. Director General of Police Kailash Makwana cancelled the order on Aug 13, 2025, and instructed her to complete the training.
