Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Ahead of Global Investors Summit to be held here next week, Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has prohibited display of all forms of unauthorised banners, cut-outs, posters, and other promotional displays in all 21 zones, intensifying its efforts to remove non-permitted visual advertisements. To ensure compliance, BMC has temporarily halted issuance of new hoarding permissions from February 18 to 25. Zonal officer Shailesh Chouhan confirmed the crackdown, stating that the citywide monitoring team was actively removing unauthorised hoardings.

"We do not allow any non-permitted hoardings in the city. Our team regularly inspects all zones, and on Thursday alone, we removed around 50 cut-outs from VIP Road, Airport Road, and Link Road 1. So far, we have cleared over 200 cut-outs and temporary hoardings near GIS-2025 venue, with a total of 500 non-permitted hoardings removed citywide in last one week," Chouhan said.

Promoting GIS

Bhopal has been adorned with over 250 hoardings and unipole advertisements exclusively promoting GIS-2025. Additionally, more than 100 cut-outs have been placed at various key intersections, along with two floating banners on Upper Lake.

Strict action

Mayor Malti Rai reaffirmed administration’s commitment to maintaining order in the city ahead of the event. "We have directed BMC officials to enforce strict action against unauthorised hoardings and posters, especially near GIS locations," she stated.
