Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervor in Bhopal, as Mayor Malti Rai hoisted the national flag at the ISBT Municipal Office premises in the presence of Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan.
Municipal Corporation Chairman Kishan Suryavanshi also unfurled the Tricolour at the Mata Mandir Municipal Office.
Addressing citizens at ISBT, Mayor Rai extended greetings on the occasion and inspected the parade of fire brigade personnel before the ceremony. Following the flag hoisting, sweets were distributed among attendees.

Incentive cheques to 39 students
Marking the occasion, Mayor Rai awarded incentive cheques of Rs. 10,000 each to 39 children of municipal employees who scored over 75% marks in Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations — 20 students from Class 10 and 19 from Class 12. She wished them a bright future and encouraged academic excellence.
At the Mata Mandir Municipal Office, Chairman Suryavanshi, joined by Commissioner Narayan, conveyed Independence Day wishes to the public and distributed sweets.The celebrations were attended by members of the Mayor’s Council, corporators, additional and deputy commissioners, municipal officers, employees, and prominent citizens. The events reflected unity, pride, and the spirit of freedom.
