Bhopal: Man out on evening walk, loses mobile to snatchers

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Unidentified miscreants snatched a mobile phone from a contractor while he was walking near his house on Saturday night. This is the fourth such incident reported in the state capital since the corona curfew was lifted.

The complainant, Manish Gupta, lives in Shanti Niketan area. The two men rode up on a bike when Gupta was talking to someone on the phone. They snatched his mobile phone and fled towards Habibganj. Gupta reached home and informed his family about the incident after which they lodged a complaint at the Govindpura police station. A case under Section 392 of the IPC was registered against the unknown accused. The police are yet to arrest anyone in the case.

Earlier, two chain snatching incidents were reported in the Koh-e-Fiza police station area this week. Besides, another mobile snatching incident was reported in the Talaiya police station area this week. The accused in the Koh-e-Fiza incident are on the run and the police department has announced a reward of Rs 20,000 for their arrest. The accused in the Talaiya incident were arrested on the same day.
