Bhopal: Interactive session for farmers myths and rumours related to vaccination discussed

BHOPAL: UNICEF and the Press Information Bureau, in partnership with the state health department, organised an interactive session on vaccination for farmers on Thursday. The need for vaccination and the myths and rumours related to it were discussed at the session.

State immunisation officer, National Health Mission, Dr Santosh Shukla, spoke on the Covid-19 vaccination schedule, the need for getting vaccinated and the steps being taken by the state for increasing vaccination. He clarified and answered questions from farmers on various myths and rumours being floated. He added that the vaccine is safe and that vaccination and Covid-19 protocols are two ways to fight coronavirus.

Health specialist from UNICEF Dr Vandana Bhatia clarified on questions from the field on vaccination and repeated the need to use a double facemask, hand-washing with soap and physical distancing.

Additional director-general, Press Information Bureau, Prashant Pathrabe spoke about the importance of vaccination and the need for busting various myths being floated around in the rural areas.

Director, Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Dr CR Mehta spoke on the farmersí need to go in for physical distancing and other protocols as they work in the fields. The institute linked farmers to this meet.

Amrendar Mishra of Krishak Jagat and Virendar Vishwakarma of National Krishi Mail, agricultural magazines; Anil Gulati, communications specialist, UNICEF; and Akhil Namdev and Prem Kuma from PIB were part of the meet.
