Ninth convocation of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research was organised on Sunday |
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The ninth convocation of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Bhopal, was organised here on Sunday. At the function, PhD, BS-MS, MS and BS degrees were awarded to pass-out students. The conference awarded 246 BS-MS (Bi-degree), 25 BS, 17 MS, and 34 PhD degrees.
G Satheesh Reddy, Secretary, Department of Defence Research and Development and Chairman, DRDO, was the chief guest. Reddy said, "The central government is providing many opportunities to youths. Young scientist labs have been set up in the country where all the people are below 35 years of age."
"More than 7,000 registered start-ups are in the country. This happened because of leadership. Work for the country. Your success would make your institution happy,” he added. Ajay Kumar Sood, President, Board of Governors, IISER, Bhopal and Professor, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, presided over the function. Shiva Umapati, Director, IISER, Bhopal, presented the annual report. The graduating students were presented medals.
