BHOPAL: A day after a woman was found murdered on a train, police arrested her ex-paramour from Bajaria area of Bhopal on Wednesday.
A 23-year-old married woman was killed inside a moving Narmada Express by her ex-paramour Sagar Soni, who slit her throat on Tuesday night, police said. The incident took place in Indore-Bilaspur train around 2 km before Sehore railway station and the victim identified as Muskan Hada died before the train arrived at the station. The woman was in extramarital relationship with Sagar, however, she had recently left him, which apparently prompted the man to kill her.
The police have seized the blood stained clothes from accused, but the murder weapon is still missing.
The victim, a resident of Shukhalia in Indore, was travelling to Bhopal from Indore to meet her friend.
The special director general of police rail, Sudhir Sahi informed that the police have received a call at dial 100 that a woman was being harassed in Narmada express. Muskan, who was travelling in D-3 coach of the train, had informed her brother that a man was teasing her. Her brother had, subsequently, informed police by calling on Dial 100.
The victim's family told police that Muskan was married to Kapil Yadav, a resident of Indore, however, they had parted ways a few months back and started living separately. Muskan was in a relationship with Sagar Soni and this had led to a marital dispute between the couple.
A few days ago, she broke her relationship with Sagar, too. The latter was furious at Muskan for leaving him.
Sagar wanted to continue his relationship with Muskan, but she remained adamant. "Sagar was following her for the past few days. On Tuesday, when she boarded Narmada Express, Sagar also joined her," said Sahi.
Police informed that the raids were conducted in many places and Sagar was arrested from the house in Sikendri Saray of Bajara area in Bhopal on Wednesday.
