BHOPAL: The outsourced employees of the Central Zone Power Distribution Company who were getting salaries much less than the prescribed collectorís rates will not get salaries accordingly. Free Press had also raised the issue of these employees. The outsourced employees of Central Zone Power Discom (distribution company) were getting about Rs 900 less than the labour rates fixed by the collector. The outsourced employees union had met the power minister Pradhuman Singh Tomar and raised the issue.
The minister after finding the complaint right had instructed the principal secretary to rectify the anomaly. Action should be taken against agencies that are doing such deeds, the minister had directed.
The inquiry was done in power discomís jurisdiction including Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Guna, Ashoknagar, Datia and Bhind and the complaint was found to be true. Concerned agency that was facilitating employees to the power discom has been served a show cause notice.
About 13,000 employees working in 16 districts of the central zone discom have been affected by this deed of the agency.
Power minister had taken cognizance of the matter even in February when he had checked the salary slips of outsourced employees. FIR was also registered against the agency in Sarni. Then, employees were told to wait till the new financial year- however, things didnít change.
Now, after the instructions of the minister and principal secretary, field officials of the department have directed the agencies to deposit the difference amount in bank accounts of the outsourced employees.
Managing Director of Central Discom, Ganesh Shankar Mishra has asked the employees to complain to the manager HR (Human Resource) if they have further issues regarding the same. Nevertheless, the question, why did the power discom overlook the complaints of thousands of outsourced employees for months, has left unanswered.
