Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 35-year-old inmate, who was serving life sentence in murder case, allegedly committed suicide by hanging in a bathroom of a ward at Bhopal Central Jail on Thursday morning, police said.
The deceased was identified as Khemchandra, a resident of Raisen district. In charge of Gandhi Nagar police station, Arun Sharma said the jail administration informed the police at 10AM on Thursday that a prisoner had committed suicide.
“A team was sent to the central jail and the body was sent for autopsy,” he said. He further said that Khemchandra, who was serving life sentence in a murder case, was found hanging from a ventilation window of a bathroom. He used a bed sheet to hang himself, Sharma said.
