Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Politics is back in the state after the second wave of the corona has waned.

The political parties have started talking about the ensuing by-elections. The Election Commission has also begun to brace for it.

The BJP, as well as, the Congress is shining their arms. Besides the by-election to a parliamentary seat in Khandwa, by-polls will be held in Jobat, Prithvipur and Raigaon assembly constituencies.

Former chief minister and MPCC president, Kamal Nath, is going to hold meeting with his party men from the poll-bound areas in the coming days.

On the other hand, the BJP will soon declare the names of its in charges.

The BJP is more worried about the by-elections than the Congress. The party’s concern for the ensuing by-polls has resulted from its defeat in the Damoh by-election.

There is resentment among people against the government, after the second wave of the pandemic.

The BJP is trying to assuage the feelings of the voters, so that their anger is not manifested in the EVMs.

The Khandwa parliamentary seat has fallen vacant after the death of Nandkumar Singh Chouhan. His son Harshwardhan Singh is the key contender for the ticket for this constituency.

Besides him, former minister Archana Chitnis is trying to toss her hat into the ring.

The supporters of both of them are at daggers drawn with one another. If one of them is deprived of the ticket, there may be sabotage.

Raigaon seat has fallen vacant following the death of Jugalkishore Bagri.

His family members are also in the race for ticket. Besides the son of Bagri, his nephew is trying to get the ticket.

Similarly, Prithvipur seat has fallen vacant after the death of Brajendra Singh Rathore and Jobat seat after the demise of Kalwati Bhuria.

Both Prithvipur and Jobat have been the traditional seats of the Congress which has already decided its candidates for these constituencies.

The BJP has a dearth of good candidates for these two seats, so the party is searching for suitable contenders.

According to the BJP, the party leaders will be deployed on the basis ground reports in the constituencies where the by-polls will be held. A strategy will be made only after that.
