Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Chhichhore-fame actor Tushar Pandey has said actors should not allow themselves to be typecast. Talent of an actor is recognised only when she or he does work in different genres, he opines.

Tushar along with his wife and TV actor Deepika Singh Goyal were in the city on Tuesday for the promotion of the film ‘Titu Ambani’, to be released on July 8.

He said that Chhichhore was the turning point for him, whereas in Ashram, he got a different character which was very much liked by the audience.

About his acting journey, Tushar said “I am from Delhi. When I was in school, I used to dance and act. I thought that whatever I do, I will do it with proper training and study.”

He used to do theatre while studying in Delhi University. Then he joined the National School of Drama (NSD). But the process of acting training did not stop here. “After that I went to the London School of Performing Arts. I have taken institutional training in acting for about eight years. Then I came to Mumbai. I believe that if you work hard, understand art, then you can perform better. I am also progressing slowly,” he said.

About the remake of South films in Bollywood, he said that there is no dearth of directors and writers in Bollywood but still it is happening.

“My character in the film represents the youth of today. Titu feels that he is not made for a job. He wants to become a big man for whom he keeps thinking of new business ideas,” Tushar said.

‘Diya Aur Baati’ fame TV actor Deepika says that the character in the film is very different and challenging than the work she has done on TV.

About working in the film with her husband, Deepika said that Tushar was a director and she was an actor from the beginning. “Whatever you start with, it always remains the same. We both have matured too.”

“Switching from TV to films was a very difficult decision for me. But I wanted to try something different and new, so I turned to films,” she said.

Deepika said “We have made Titu Ambani with a lot of love, it also gives a special message that can’t a girl become Shravan Kumar for her mother and father? This film is my debut in Bollywood and I am sure the audience will love Titu Abani’s Moushumi on the big screen as my TV character Sandhya is loved by the audience. You will be equally proud of Moushumi’s character.”
