Bhopal: 2 Arrested With Looted Jewellery

The accused used the looted cash for visiting Ayodhya and tourist spots in Rajasthan, police said.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The police on Saturday cracked a case of loot, which took place a month back in Malviya Nagar under Arera Hills police station. Police arrested two miscreants and recovered the looted jewellery from them.

The accused used the looted cash for visiting Ayodhya and tourist spots in Rajasthan, police said. Two unidentified looters had snatched cash Rs 30,000 and jewellery from Sangeeta Tanwani near New Market on January 15.

DCP Zone-2 Sanjay Agarwal said five-member Special Investigation Team was formed under sub inspector Santosh Raghuvanshi for tracing the looters. The SIT identified the looters through available CCTV footages and carried out a raid in Ayodhya but they managed to flee.

The police team finally nabbed the looters from Lalitpur district of Uttar Pradesh where they were hiding. The duo was identified as Dinesh Narwaria (26) and Sandeep Dangi (24) of Damkheda In Bhopal.

Police team seized looted gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs 8 lakh along with a bike used in the crime. The arrested looters have cases registered against them at other police stations. They will be questioned further to ascertain their involvement in other cases of loots, DCP added.
