Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): An Indore-based man has accused a Jabalpur resident of cheating him in the vehicle purchase deal.
Bihari Lal Mittal, a resident of Scheme No. 74, Vijay Nagar, Indore filed a complaint with Adhartal police station in Jabalpur in which he accused Syed Ali Abbas Naqvi alias 'Shibu', of neither giving him NOC of the SUV he had purchased from him nor returning Rs 38.5 lakh, which he had paid for the vehicle, or even handing over the vehicle.
Mittal stated that he had met Hafeez, a resident of Bhopal, in 2024 for purchasing a vehicle. Hafeez then introduced him to Naqvi from Jabalpur.
On April 18, 2024, Mittal and Naqvi met near the Adhartal intersection to finalise the sale of a SUV car owned by Naqvi.
As part of the deal, Mittal made an online and cash payment of 38.5 lakh to Naqvi. The sale agreement included a condition that the No Objection Certificate (NOC) would be provided within six months.
However, even after six months, the accused failed to provide the NOC. He also took the car back from Mittal on the pretext of providing the NOC soon, but has since refused to return either the vehicle, the NOC, or the money.
Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against Syed Ali Abbas Naqvi under Section 318 BNS, and a search for the accused is currently underway.
