BHOPAL : The government of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state is going to complete its 11 years on Monday. The party formed its government when former chief minister and current Union Minister Uma Bharati took oath as the chief minister on December 8, 2003 with 17 ministers. Out of these ministers, only two ministers namely Gopal Bhargava and Kailash Vijayvargiya are the ones who are holding ministerial posts consecutively for past 11 years.

After Uma, Babulal Gaur became CM followed by Shivraj Singh Chauhan but these two ministers were trusted by everyone.

Gaur too is in cabinet since 2003. He held the post of Chief Minister for a little over a year from August 2004 to November 2005 and in the remaining time, worked as minister.

When Uma Bharati took oath as Chief Minister, there were ministers namely Raghavji, Narendra Singh Tomar, Anup Mishra, Gaurishankar Shejwar, Kailash Chawla, Dhal Singh Bisen, Om Prakash Dhurvey, Harnam Singh Rathore, Ramakant Tiwari, Chandrabhan Singh, Meena Singh, Jagdish Muvel, Anchal Sonkar and Dilip Bhartere but none could retain their ministership for long.

Bhargava, during his term as minister, headed departments related to rural areas, Panchayat and rural development, cooperatives and agriculture while Vijayvargiya headed Public Works Department, Industries, Urban Adminstration, Energy and Science & Technology departments.

Vijayvargiya during his tenure had mixed relations with various Chief Ministers but no one could ignore him. Bhargava too continued to put up his view point strongly and was successful in making an image. According to Vijayvargiya, he is a humble party worker and whatever work given to him, he continued to do it. He said that it is a matter of pride for him that he won confidence of three Chief Ministers in the BJP regime in the state. Similarly, Bhargava maintains that he feels happy that the party leadership showed trust in him. He said he would continue to serve the party. Bhargava added that he never harbours any ambition and whatever work he gets, he accepts it with humility.
