Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): AIIMS Bhopal is the only government hospital in Madhya Pradesh to have a modern Linear Accelerator (LINAC) machine, which is helping change the way cancer is treated.
This new technology makes radiotherapy more accurate, safe, and effective, giving better results for cancer patients.
Under the guidance of Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, AIIMS Bhopal is becoming a top centre for cancer care in central India. Patients from different parts of the region are coming here for advanced treatment and expert care, making it a big step forward in government cancer services in the state.
Currently, 70 to 80 cancer patients are being successfully treated daily using this system. The LINAC machine targets tumors with high-energy X-rays with great precision, minimizing damage to healthy tissues and leading to better outcomes for patients.
In addition to radiotherapy, AIIMS Bhopal also offers blood irradiation services, which are especially beneficial in preventing infections through transfusion and for immunocompromised patients.
This facility enhances not only the treatment of cancer patients but also the overall quality of the institute’s blood bank services. Patients from neighboring states such as Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra, along with those from Madhya Pradesh, are benefiting from these services.
