Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): More than 70 artists from across the country have showcased their diverse artworks at the Lalit Kala Gallery in Ravindra Bhavan under 'Kalagya Art Exhibition - Third Arc 2026'.
Artist Mamta Saxena from Bhopal has showcased more than 100 artworks in the exhibition. “I am an MBA by education, the wife of a police officer Amit Saxena and a mother of two. While I live in the vibrant, busy rhythm of a joint family, my truest expression has always flowed through colours and canvas.
What began during the stillness of the Covid years, a moment of quiet with a brush in my hand-soon turned into a life-affirming pursuit,” Saxena said, adding that “though I have no formal training, I pour my soul into every brushstroke, creating over 500+ artworks that blend folk influences, vivid storytelling, and my own intuitive imagination.”
“For me, these paintings are not just art; they are meditation. Each piece I create is a window into joy, struggle, beauty, and rebirth. I do not paint to escape my life, but to embrace it more fully- as a creator, mother and as a woman of hope,” Saxena added.
A 56-year-old Aditi Joshi depicted key Ramayana episodes in Warli painting. Created entirely using henna ('mehndi'), this special painting of Goddess Saraswati by Jabalpur artist Deeksha Gupta depicts the deity seated on a lotus, holding a veena. The two-day national art exhibition, organised by Kalagya Art, concluded on Sunday.
